Altitikutz ( the people of Altit)   are divided in to four tribes namely Khunukutz , Hakalukutz , Shoshoroting and Husenuz each having their own history and origin. The racial prejudice doesn't exist in tribes of Altit, every tribe is equal in all respect to other and all four tribes have internal relations with each other, therefore there is no chance of racial disbute.Khunukutz is the biggest tribe in Altit and according to a myth, the commencement of any event in Altit is done by a man from Khunukutz tribe. Other tribes have their own traditions like Shoshoroting tribes celebrates "Peera", an annual gathering of the tribe in which an animal is slaughtered by collecting equal amount of money or wheat from each man of the tribe and that animal is distributed equally to all homes of the tribes.Altitikutz are physically very strong as compare to other Hunzukutz because of the steep way to Duikar which is to be covered by Altitikutz everyday.Altitikutz are the people who have given their lives for the development of whole Hunza and for its security. Now Altitikutz are making progress in all fields of life from Agriculture to education. The organizations working in Altit are very well supported by the people of Altit , because of this reason projects like Restoration of Altit fort, Underground electrification and sewerage system was possible. Whether it is  cricket or the poetry or educational competition , Altitkutz have beaten every adversary in their way.
